Dr. Farhad Rahbar was appointed as the new head of the Islamic Azad University

Following the approval of Farhad Rahbar as the head of Islamic Azad University by Iran's Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution in 18th meeting of the council on 23 July 2017, the head of the Founding Council and Board of Trustees of the Islamic Azad University, Ali Akbar Velayati, appointed Dr. Farhad Rahbar as the head of IAU. Dr. Farhad Rahbar, born in 5 October 1959 in Semnan province, Iran, is an economist, academic, member of IAU board of trustees and the former Chancellor of University of Tehran. He received his PhD in Economics University of Tehran. Previously, Rahbar was the head of the Management and Planning Organization of Iran. He has also worked as the Deputy for economic affairs at the Ministry of Intelligence. He was also active in the Jahad of Construction, Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation, Ministry of Commerce, working as economic expert and consultant to the Prime Minister, general director of economic investigations at the Center for Strategic Studies, the deputy of economic affairs at the Ministry of Intelligence, and as head of the National Content Consortium.
